The strength of your Social Links can affect the persona’s strength. Make sure your Empress Social Link, the one tied to Mitsuru Kirijo, is as high as possible. On one of my runs, I maxed out Mitsuru’s SL before fusing Cybele, and the stat boosts were impressive.
So don’t underestimate how your connections can beef up your Personas. It makes the grind with Mitsuru even more rewarding.
Cost and Resources
Persona fusion isn’t cheap. I had to grind quite a bit of yen for Cybele. Prepare to spend a decent chunk: 120,000 yen or more, depending on your compendium costs.
Checking your available resources regularly ensures you’re not surprised by the price tag. One time, I was flat-out broke when I was ready to fuse Cybele, and I had to spend another couple of hours farming. Plan ahead!

Leveling up to 64 in Persona 3 Reload can be a slog if you’re not efficiently managing your time in Tartarus. Be strategic about your battles. I suggest focusing on exploiting enemy weaknesses to end fights quickly and rack up more experience points. Keep an eye on your HP and SP, and use your resources wisely to sustain your grind.
Some of my most productive sessions in Tartarus involved targeting Full Moon Boss fights. These are great for XP. If you’re low on SP, consider using the items you’ve saved up or heading back to the dorm to replenish it. It’s tempting to push for one more floor, but sometimes a tactical retreat is smarter.
The Arqa Block of Tartarus is optimal for catching up when you’re near Level 64. Enemies here can offer substantial experience if you know how to deal with their weaknesses. Use Persona skills effectively and capitalize on the One More system for chaining attacks.
Optimal Persona to Use During Grind
Slipping into the right Persona can make the leveling process smoother. I’ve found that Ouroboros and Surt are fantastic for dealing heavy damage and can handle a variety of enemy types, speeding up the XP gains. Swapping Personas to match the weaknesses of enemies keeps fights efficient.
Check your Persona compendium for ones secondary skills that keep you healed up during your grinding sessions. Tam Lin’s Mediarama can save you in a pinch. Healing skills and offensive balance are key here.
While working towards Level 64, I kept Black Frost in my active lineup, since his stats and skills at higher levels are pretty robust. Being agile and versatile with your Personas will help you slice through the grind effectively.
Reward Management
Watching your yen while you level up is crucial. Accumulating 120,000 yen, at minimum, for the fusion can feel like another grind. Instead of ignoring treasure chests, make a habit of checking them. Sell unnecessary items at the Antique Shop or Police Station to stockpile your cash.
During dungeon crawls, don’t skip those golden shadows. They drop valuable items and can sometimes provide that last bit of pocket change needed for the fusion process. These tips really helped me when funds were tight.
